We offer built-in targets for letter campaigns, including US president and vice president, US Congress (both Senate and House), state governors, and state legislatures (both upper and lower house). Activists are matched to the appropriate legislator by their full address.
With new legislative districts at the state and congressional levels, we will be redistricting activists for a period of time starting in early-mid January. During this time, the districts used on the activist record, email/mobile message clips, and email/mobile message/report targeting will be incorrect.
We aim to update the built-in targets as quickly as possible after they are sworn in. This is a time consuming process that is dependent on a variety of other websites and platforms, so we appreciate your patience. You can read about how this process works for each target in this help doc and sign up to get notified of updates.
As a reminder, regardless of which built-in targets you use, you will need to reselect targets once your new elected officials have been sworn in and we have the targets updated on the backend. To do this, you will need to edit your letter campaign, clear all targets, add all targets, and save again. If you do not do this, your targets will not be updated to show the newly sworn-in people. For example, if your letter campaign targeted Senator Axel, but he's been replaced by Senator Sunny, you need to remove Senator Axel and re-select targets to include Senator Sunny going forward.
