With custom domains for actions, instead of your published links appearing like actionnetwork.org/petitions/stop-the-bad-thing they can appear with your own custom domain, like action.your-organization.com/petitions/stop-the-bad-thing. This is great if you want more branding on your actions, but want to continue using page wrappers rather than embedding actions on your website.
Once your custom domain for your group is set up, every action will work with two links — the standard actionnetwork.org link and the link with your custom domain. The link with your custom domain will automatically be made the default. This means that anywhere the link is populated, like the sharing options, direct link, and even viewing your action, will automatically default to your custom domain.
Note that this feature only works with actions using a custom page wrapper.
Custom domains for actions cost an additional $200/month. You can share custom domains with multiple groups across Action Network if you want, such as an affiliate organization, a federated network, or organizations with a c3/c4 structure. If the custom short link is shared across groups, only one group needs to pay the $200/month fee.
To set up a custom domains, reach out to join@actionnetwork.org including:
- Links to all the groups that you want this custom domain to apply to
- The domain you want. Make sure this is a domain that you own and will maintain!
Our team will send you a link to set up your payment. Once the payment is received, we will set up your custom domain and email you when it's done. At that point, you will need to install DNS records on your domain. Then you'll be able to see your custom domain on the Settings tab of your Group Manage page.
After this is set up, all your past and future actions using page wrappers will default to the link at your custom domain.
Note: if you cancel your custom domain the actions using your custom domain will no longer work. The standard actionnetwork.org links still will work.
