By default, all links sent over the mass mobile messaging tool and ladders are shortened to actn.et/numbersandletters. You can set up custom (also known as vanity) short links for your mobile messages, so that all the links sent over mass mobile message and ladders will appear as txt.your-organization.org/numbersandletters. By using custom mobile short links, you can make your mobile messages more branded while maintaining click and action tracking.
You can share custom short links with multiple groups across Action Network if you want, such as an affiliate organization, a federated network, or organizations with a c3/c4 structure.
Custom short links for mobile cost an additional $200/month. If the custom short link is shared across groups, only one group needs to pay the $200/month fee.
To set up a custom short link, reach out to join@actionnetwork.org and include:
- Links to all the groups that you want this short link to apply to
- The domain you want the short link to point to (for example, txt.your-organization.net). Make sure this is a domain that you own and will maintain!
Our team will send you a link to set up your payment. Once the payment is received, we will set up your custom short link and email you when it's done. At that point, you will need to install DNS records on your domain. You'll then be able to see your short link on the Settings tab of your Group Manage page.
Note: if you cancel your custom short link, the custom links will no longer work.
