The Sharing tab appears on the manage page of all actions and allows you to customize our default social media sharing text, which appears on your manage page, our default thank you pages as well as in autoresponse emails. It also allows you to install Facebook or Google pixel tracking, for tracking conversions on ads you run. If you haven't customized these yourself, you'll see a yellow dot next to the Sharing and Tracking tab to indicate you're still using our default messages.
To customize Facebook (and Google+) options, enter a title, link to share, and a description in the Facebook section and click "Save Sharing Options" to save. You can upload an image too if you'd like, otherwise the banner image from your action, your group default sharing image, or our default image will be used. We will automatically add source codes and referrer codes to your link, though you can add your own if you'd like.
To customize Twitter text, enter your tweet in the Twitter section and click save. Don't forget to link to your action! We will automatically add source codes and referrer codes to your link (see here for more on referrers), though you can add your own if you'd like.
To customize the copy and paste email text, enter your text in the Email A Friend section and click save. Don't forget to link to your action! We will automatically add source codes and referrer codes to your link, though you can add your own if you'd like.
To customize the direct link box, enter a new link in the Direct Link section and click save. We will automatically add source codes and referrer codes to your link, though you can add your own if you'd like. If you're using custom domains for actions, this link (and all sharing links) will automatically be populated with your custom domain link. More on custom domains for actions here.
Note: Facebook caches share text after it's been used, so if you change the text you may need to clear Facebook's cache in order to see the updated text when folks share. Enter the link you are sharing into Facebook's debugger to clear the cache.
To add Google Ads or Facebook pixels, add the pixel IDs in the boxes at the bottom of the tab. Once installed, conversions from advertisements will be tracked, including amounts if you're tracking fundraising or ticketed event actions. More information on Facebook pixels can be found here. More information on Google Ads pixels can be found here.
You can also add custom scripts for any other tracking pixels you have if you're a paying partner (more on partnerships here). You can input javascript or HTML into the box and it will automatically be added to the published action page.
Note: The pixels will not track conversions if you are using a thank you page redirect, especially on fundraising or ticketed event pages. The pixels will still track page views. If you are using a redirect you should install the pixels on the pages you are redirecting to, which will ensure full tracking.
When you're done, click save at the very bottom to save your changes.
